Meditation, or 'a period of stillness' is the key to all personal growth. It is the enabler of the search within and provides the opportunity to listen to our deepest instincts. However most of us find it difficult to just 'switch off' and require a technique that will assist us in stilling the mind.

Several techniques can be very effective:

  • Concentrating on the breath, not counting but feeling the breath as it flows in and out of the body, placing ones whole awareness on it.
  • Visualising a blank screen or wall in your mind.
  • Concentrating on a 'mantra', a single word that is repeated over and over.
  • Visualising the flow of energy form the Universal Energy Field / God.
  • Visualising yourself in a peaceful place.
  • Focusing on a spiritual teacher or symbol.
  • Becoming 'mindful' (or 'in the moment') of everything around you and not digressing to thoughts of past or future.
It is the regularity of practice that will make the difference as this is what creates the physiological changes within the brain that raise our ability to resist stress and to relax. Healing is also improved when the immune system is not working under constant stress. Try to prioritise meditation within your daily life by setting aside a certain amount of time each day, at a regular time if possible. This could be as short as four or five minutes if that is all the time you have available but studies have shown that 15 - 20 minutes twice a day is optimal for promoting healing within the body.

Private tuition or attending a group course are recommended to get you started and to help iron out any challenges that may arise at the beginning.

"Harmony & Health - Westernised Meditation"

This eight week course is designed around a variety of westernized meditation techniques so you can find out what will work for you. These include muscle relaxations, guided visualizations and working with the Human Energy Field to promote relaxation, harmony and health.

Stress is a necessary part of life. It is what stimulates us to perform, whether that be to run a marathon or get that report out on time. However we know that maintaining these levels for prolonged periods is devastating on the body. Our performance is hampered and our health suffers long term. Ongoing stress affects our immune system, and can lead to long term problems like stomach and heart disease as well as muscle tension, O O S, migraine, and a weakened ability to deal with relationships of all kinds.

There are various techniques that you can learn to help you alleviate stress, relieve pain, and balance health, both for instant relief and as a protection for the future. As well as clearer mental ability and improved interpersonal relationships, these techniques cause physiological changes in the body. Studies consistently show that regular practitioners –when compared with control groups– need much less medical or hospital treatment. In a couple of minutes you will be able to lower your blood pressure and heart-rate, release a head-ache and free your mind to think clearly. Tasks are accomplished more easily; you become calm, focused, and refreshed. Find the techniques that will work for you!

 For the Corporate sector or other groups, a three session course of basic relaxation techniques is available on request, in your work-place.

 For the Corporate sector or other groups, a variety of training sessions are available including the one hour seminar on dealing with stress and the two x two hour training sessions with a more in-depth discussion of relaxation techniques and maintaining life balance. These can be held in your work place and can be tailored to suit individual Company requirements.
