 Lectures:

"Zen And The Art Of Quilting."

Camilla's current success and enjoyment of quilting, particularly appliqué, follows on from a long history of hand work and craft. Having finally found an art medium that suits her personality and style she enjoys speaking and sharing, hopefully to inspire and encourage others to 'find their light and follow their passion.' Camilla will show some of her first hand works, her fine needle-turn hand appliqué and her machine embroidery. Display can be altered to suit your group.

 Workshops and Courses:

“Vines ‘n More – Needleturn Hand Appliqué”     Needleturn Hand Appliqué is the way to go for 'threadably' thin vines, smooth curves, 'pointy' points and devilishly deep 'V's. Once 'set up'  this is a very relaxing format that is also extremely portable. In this class participants will undertake exercises to determine their own skill level, learn make-or-break tips, and create and begin their own design. Suitable for appliqué beginners or experienced stitchers who want to try a new technique or learn more tips and tricks.  One day (six hour) class will see design well under-way with plenty of time to practice new techniques.  Standard desk and chair space required, lightbox if it is available.

Lots of ideas provided to get going and full support is given for creating an original design. “Elemental Art Quilts"
Simple but stunning quilts based on the elements of nature. Design and colour skills are taught as participants create their own unique art treasure based on an 'element' of nature and a repeating block. Participants are encouraged to develop their own design however Camilla does have several patterns available. Expand your quilting skills in a new fun direction. Suitable for new or experienced quilters, however experience with the sewing machine is required and feed dogs must be able to be lowered or covered for 'free-motion' quilting. With a bit of homework the eight week course will see the quilt completed, two day workshop will see top well under way.

"I just want to say your 'Elemental Art Quilt' class was a big hit. I go to a quilting group on Tuesday night where some of the ladies went to your class on Saturday. Everyone I have spoken to loved your class, two of the ladies have finished their their tops already and one said she enjoyed the technique so much she has begun another. Thanks so much, Vicki Oliver."

                                                     'Ti Kouka'                                                             'Bubbles'

Petal Windows Quilts"

Petal Window quilts are an innovative technique of joining circles that become the backing and then produce flower petals when folded to the front over an inlay. The petal edges can be left raw to fray or satin stitched for a fine finish. It is particularly quick to construct and would be very effective for an 'eye-spy' design or a feature fabric. Instructions will be given for customizing the size. Camilla's "Picnic In The Garden" quilt features in the Christmas 2010, NZ Quilter magazine.
